These are so beautiful and colorful. These creatures eat skeeters by the tons down here, so I'm glad to have them around.

Lovely! They have such delicate wings. Reminds me of a Dragonfly photo I have and a poem that goes with it. It appeared in Birds & Blooms a few years. Maybe I'll post it tomorrow.

These are truly remarkable photos! Kjell, what lens did you use?

Sorry for the late answer, but we are just back from a road trip. :) For those images I used an Canon EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 lens at 300mm. Location was approximately eight to ten feet between camera and bug. :)

I really like your dragonflies Kjell. They are fun to watch and a little difficult to photograph. If you have a chance take a look at my blog in June, "Life of a different wing" You may find it similar to this post.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments.
Larry, I left a commitments on your "Life of a different wing". You are correct, they are hard to catch with a camera. :)

Gorgeous!! I really like that second shot with the sparkly wings. When they are flying around in the sunshine they look like they are made of gold. We've had lots of dragonflies the last few weeks and I've taken lots of photos. Now I just need to get them posted.
