Today's image is from the National Battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
My wife and I have a great interest in America's Civil War and the many personal stories in addition to the history of the battles themselves. We include stops to capture images at Civil War battlefields whenever we can while traveling. The evening we stopped here we were fortunate to have perfect weather and light for photography.
On the way to the store one afternoon a few months ago, my wife and I came across this lovely tree. We carry our cameras with us most of the time so were prepared to capture this image of Autumn Leaves in Cincinnati, USA.
This fascinating pattern was made by forming stalagmites forming inside a cave at Rock City Gardens near Chattanooga, Tennessee. The water dripped on this rock and stalactites began to form. As the water continued over the side of the rock all stalagmites began forming below. Sadly this beautiful display of nature is within reach of a path and visitors have broken off souvenirs.
Here is a most spectacular view on the Island of Capri in Italy. It was a long cab ride, then a hike to the edge of a mountain to capture this one, but it was worth every bit of the effort to get there.
These two Queens will never again be seen in service here together at the Port of Cincinnati again unless there is an Act of Congress to permit the Delta Queen to travel our waterways again. This beautiful image shows the difference in size of the elder lady Delta Queen and much newer Mississippi Queen.
Today's image is of a cat in the back streets of Villefranche, France.
Villefranche is a small town on the Mediterranean in the South of France between Nice and Monaco. It is a favorite port of call in the Med because it always provides photo opportunities not found elsewhere.
